A Visit From Butch and Diane

We got word in late May that beloved SCPA member Butch Ramputi is battling colon and liver cancer. He and Diane aren’t able to spend the summer with us this year, as they need to stick close to home in Plantation, FL for Butch’s treatments. Dave Morse and Ruthie Kimmons organized a couple of group get-well cards from Summit Pickleball peeps.

Last week we were very pleasantly surprised when Butch and Diane showed up at drop-in, where in any other year Butch would be a daily fixture. They were in town for just five days to take care of some admin matters with their Dillon home, car and PO Box.

We coaxed Butch onto the pickleball court, even though he hadn’t tried to play in some time. Despite having lost some weight and some breath, Butch did great!!! He played whenever his paddle came up and scored some zingers!

A few of us accompanied Butch and Diane for lunch afterwards.

Best wishes, Butch, for a speedy recovery!

  1. Butch, miss you ONLY because it’s hard to find balls when we play at Dillon…I think there’s a bucket in your condo! LOL. Get well and come back soon!

  2. It was so much fun getting to play with Butch And Diane on the pickle ball courts! Neither of them have lost a step and I know they’ll be successful fighting the big fight against C. Looking forward to seeing them next year!
